The Kingdom of Colossus. The Place of Harassment in the Times of the Image

In the contemporary society’s imaginary, terror is more a ghost that harasses us than the reality of facts. We cannot deny the existence of violence —war, terrorism, exiles, genocide— but neither can we absolutely confirm that its images account for it. The exhibit The Kingdom of Colossus. The Place of Harassment in the Times of the Image explored the relation between what the image barely allows to see and what always escapes it.

Three museographic installations were created to conceive the exhibit as a traveling film which integrated photography, film and digital technologies, in an attempt to show that terror exceeds images. It was a“dismantling” exercise to make the “unrepresentable” obvious.
