La primera lectura de la colección del Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo estuvo a cargo de Olivier Debroise (1952-2008), destacado crítico, historiador del arte y escritor.
Recursos incontrolables y otros desplazamientos naturales fue una exposición que exploró las constantes referencias a la naturaleza que hay en la práctica artística contemporánea. La muestra, dividida en tres núcleos temáticos, planteó las contradicciones que hay entre el quehacer mecánico y artificial de hoy en día y la naturaleza.
El carácter colectivo de este proyecto obligó a acondicionar museográficamente las flamantes salas 1, 2 y 3 del recién inaugurado museo de forma que respondieran a las necesidades curatoriales y a las necesidades técnicas de la obra.
En la primera parte de la muestra se expusieron piezas que incorporaron materiales orgánicos o que esbozaron, de manera metafórica, la relación entre los humanos y la naturaleza. La segunda sección hizo énfasis en lo artificial del “objeto artístico” al incluir obras que producen sensaciones que nos desestabilizan y afectan la manera en la que comprendemos la realidad. Estas obras se establece al artista como alterador de lo natural al cuestionar su dimensión en el mundo y pasar a formar parte de él como un objeto más. Por último, la tercera sección incluyó piezas cuyo tema es la memoria, el paso del tiempo y los efectos que éste tiene en la naturaleza humana.

Uncontrollable Resources and Other Natural Displacements, a selection of the collection of the University Contemporary Art Museum (MUAC), was a collective exhibit that explored the constant references to nature there are in the practice of contemporary art.
The participation in this project obliged to condition museographically the brand new rooms 1, 2 and 3 of the recently opened museum to respond to the curatorial needs and technical needs of the work. To achieve this, the exhibit, divided into three thematic cores, presented the contradictions existing between today’s mechanical artificial chores and nature.
In the first part of the exhibit were the pieces which used organic materials or which sketched, metaphorically, the relationship between humans and nature. The second section emphasized the artificial aspect of the “art object” by including pieces which produce unstabilizing sensations and which affect the way we perceive the reality. This works establish the artist’s figure as that of something that alters what is natural by questioning its dimension in the world and becoming part of it as another object. Finally, the third section included pieces whose theme is memory, the passing of time and the effect it has in the human nature.
The curatorship of this reading of the MUAC collection was undertaken by Olivier Debroise (1952-2008), prominent critic, art historian and writer.
