In the context of the 4th Festival of electronic arts and video: Transitio_MX was presented “Afecciones colaterales” international exhibition that put into play different generations and geolocations of artists to reaffirm the translocal, transgenerational and transmedial vocation of the Festival, adding to it, with this edition, the idea of technology as affection, passion, affection, effect and disaffection.

To allow for this game, the exhibition had as its main venue, on this occasion and unprecedentedly for the Festival, a forum at the Churubusco Studios. The exhibition design proposal sought to maximize the physical and technical qualities of the place, which make it one of the most versatile and optimal spaces for exhibiting contemporary digital art: a black box.

For the articulation of the spaces of each work, the use of a mesh was proposed to allow a certain visual permeability. This material aimed to fulfill a double function: to contain each of the works so that the viewer could have an individual experience with each one and at the same time see the rest of the exhibition, placing the piece in context within the exhibition. The intention was to respect the diaphanous and massive nature of the space and turn it into an ephemeral gallery of electronic art.
